These profiles cover plant species native to the Sydney Basin Bioregion (and occasionally other parts of the Australian East Coast). We focus on species that are rarely used in gardens or designed plantings because reliable horticultural information is often missing or contradictory. Our goal is practical: identify plants worth trying, and flag those that aren’t reliable. Where information is thin, we trial species in our own projects and update profiles with what we learn. We’ll also record plants that don’t work for us. Failures are useful knowledge. Honest reporting of both success and failure helps improve how the industry uses native species.
